Custom stereo install

Custom stereo install
Forgot to post some pics of the new stereo install. I had to custom fabricate the entire mount inside to get the double din chasis to fit. Custom aluminum face plate while keeping the stock surround. Deleted the cig lighter socket and ash tray to make it look super clean. I've got power available if I need to set up a cig lighter socket but I don't really use anything that plugs in. I've got a USB jack on the front of the stereo so I can charge my phone, MP3 layer, GPS, etc.
Full touch screen, DVD, CD, MP3, DivX, SD, GPS, etc.
Looks nice and clean but apparently the pics won't upload....

Here's an ANSI drawing to hold you over until I can get this picture upload issue figured out. Haven't had any problems before....

This thread's sarcasm has reached maximum!
I'm pretty sure that in the time that it took to draw that out, you could have figured out how to upload it xD
If photobucket isnt working, I upload to a private album on facebook and then hyperlink from that.

I have a radio setup just like yours too. Tho the person that did it I think hotglued it into place and the heat is making it want to sag a bit. It was like that before I even got this Z But I had to wire up EVERYTHING! only like 1 stock wire left I think

^ All it is, is a aftermarket black faceplate, that I painted Cobalt Metallic Blue. And I used the stock stereo brackets. Drilled a couple more holes in the stereo console. And my stereo was in there nice and tight. It was a lot of work, but well worth it.
Of course, my stereo is currently in my Neon. But will be going in my Slicktop here soon. Until I can find a stereo that has a purple display, and plays my Ipod too.

@Shady, you should post some...i think theres lots of room for innovative stereo installs in the instrument area there.
That double-din looks clean. I put tweeters in my cigarette lighter slots, a flip-out 7" stereo in a custom face-plate and a gauge on each side of that. You have a lot of room you could utilize around that screen; gauges, tweeters, switches, etc.

It looks like there is lots of room on the front but it's fairly snug in behind. Just happy to be able to get a double din unit in. I haven't seen any other S130s with the double din in before.

Not trying to ruin your excitement. By all means be happy about it, I really wanted one but didn't think I could do it. But I have seen one before in an early Z and it looked soo good. It was right in front of the base of the shift ****, where I believe (I'm not familiar with the early Zs) there are some warning lights or something like that. Never seen one in an S130 though.

Lol - just because I haven't seen an S130 with a double din doesn't mean it hasn't been done a 100 times already. Just posting here to give those who were thinking about it an idea of how it could be done...

I hope I didn't offend, that may have come off wrong, I'm trying to give you props. I really like how clean and it is and how much space is left around it, that whole area is full of useless stock junk. Do you have any pictures from the back?

Oh no offense taken. I was just saying say install with a double din probably isn't unique but it's here for reference. I'll have to pull the stereo out to get some pictures of the construction. Maybe this summer when I've got some free time I'll pull it out...

great job, though it looks kind of empty on the sides, you should take a dremel or something and cut in grooves that follow the contours of the dash, to make it less blank, or maybe just spraying in some dark red or chrome lines would look good too. Or put some bells and whistles in there like a **** to control sound, or cigarette lighter
