This Damn Rattle

I have been trying to track this damn lil rattle down for some time now. It have lifted the car up. and Banged on every lil everythign i could find (not the half shafts though) The rattle comes from the right rear of the car. and will only rattle once the car is moving. it's driving me crazy. and makes the Z look bad with it rattling while driving. and i get enough rattling from the right rear quarter window cause the bushing is bad in it.

Just a thought, but I had the same rattling noise coming from the fuel pump. And like you said, it came from the rear right side of the car and only when it was moving.

Break assembly is on there like a rock. I went in that day i was bangin on stuff and checked all the bolts to the rear shocks. Found out two things though. Three lug nuts were not tight at all. i just bumped the 4 way. and they came loose. and here in a week or so. i got to put new breaks on the rear.

There are two sliders with springs across the top of the rear calipers that are there to dmapen pad movement... When the springs wear out, the pads rattle while you're rollong along because the rotor moving against them in an eccentric pattern makes them "Shake"

Been there, done that.

pad springs and pad shims...what I had you redo on the brake job you did on my car. You know, the factory parts you left out when you did it the first time, the ones you said I didn't need.

First off. those were on the FRONT and you don't need them for anything. were talkin about the REAR and nothing had to be redone.

they do rattle, i got the same problem, but finding a hardware kit has been difficult. i did zachrates rears on his 79, and it even had the stock little stainless anti squeel shims. it was nice to see those. someone has lost mine years ago. so i get rattle. and the top of the shock, if the shaft isnt tight, it will rattle, but you cant move it, only happens when hitting little bumps. try that, its simple too.

Ive had the same thing for awhile now, but it must be my brakes or something related to it. The rattle is loud as hell and embarasing, but as soon as i drag or engage the brakes at all it completly stops.

You learn fast when you work on my car and leave parts off!

We did the fronts first, the rears last. Regardless, those parts are there for a reason.
