Dash

I know that this should go into Inter place. but a, that place is dead. Will a S30 dash fit into a S130?

Anything can be made to fit anything given enough time, money & talent...

Short answer... no.

wasnt there a picture somewhere of a s30 dash in a s130? the guy did tons of custom fab stuff and it looked good, i think the dash was fiberglass, and made custom to fit the s130

I wanted to do that with my zx too. But not the whole S30 dash. I wanted to retain the main 280zx gauge cluster (speedo/tach/fuel/temp) and blend that into the S30 dash and mold the rest to fit. I like the raised FU gauges and the way it blends to the center console better on the S30 dash but I dont care for the way the main gauges are set up in those big circlular openings.

i managed to fit a 280z dash into a zx, just make your own mounts, that and the wiring of the s30 gauges into a zx wiring harness kinda sucks..

If hoov doesn't mind, here is a pic of the 3 gauges in the middle. They are the S30 guages as I can tell.

Interesting. I'm not a big fan of the gauges "surface" mounted in the holes...

Set back where they were originally put would be nicer in my opinion.

i love the layout of the gauges in a S30. i like the tunel look. that is like the Mail thing that draws me to a S30. If i had a S30 dash in a S130. she would be perfect to me. But i don't care for the layout of the main gauge cluster in a S130. to plain for me.

I like how the FU gauges on the S30 dash sit all the way at the top of the dash and kind of protrude over the top. And then there is the lower part of the dash which I think just looks cleaner then the S130s.

as opposed to this in the S130:

you would have to cut out a good chunk of that metal cross piece in the zx to make a s30 dash fit. Unless, of course its all custom. Its not gonna drop in with different mounts. I too like the s30 dash/center console a lot better myself. I'm gonna try to do the swap soon.

Main reasons why, I still want an S30 someday. Also another reason, why I swapped out my rear taillights. They just look more nostalgic. (The '79-'81 lights)

I think that first link is for a RHD vehicle but, yeah those are definitely good ideas, they make them for all types of cars too especially S13s.

i like the 79-81 tail lights over 82-83 also. I wish i could put S30 tail lights on a S130. The S30 just has those real sport's car looks to it. while the S130 is a sports car, but has common looks on inside.

I couldnt agree more. I couldn't stand the 82+ taillights. Apparently though they sell pretty well on ebay. Combined with the center "turbo" panel they sold for well over $100 when I put them on ebay.
