Difference between 83 & 81 n/a engine

I have an 83 na with a blown engine.
i have located an 81 with rebuilt motor.
Will the 81 engine swap over into the 83 with no changes or are the sensors in different places or not on engine at all ?
What all would have to be changed?
What might give me problems?

Thanks.

Virtually no changes. The 81-83 are the same setup.

I did exactly that.... for some reason, the transmissions didnt line up right... so we swapped engine and tranny... The only thing under the hood that didn't "line up" was a single plug on the wiring harness just in front of the fuel rail... No idea what it went to but its the only difference as far as i remember...

just swap out the intake manifold and therostat housing if the sensors are a little different.. but other than that.. its pretty much plug and play.
