Driving me crazy.
Ok, So about a week ago, this old chevy truck appeared parked on the side of the road just down the street from my house. It has a tow dolly behind it, and on that tow dolly is a 1991 300ZX, light blue, 2+2, auto with the F40 wing and some aftermarket 17" wheels. The front end looks like they submarined another car. Front bumper is toast and the right front headlight is crunched. Other than that, the body is straight as can be. Even the hood and front fenders appear to have escaped the carnage untouched. Now, a 2+2 auto, non turbo is not my first choice for a Z32, but... My wife would love it. It sat there for a week. After a few days, I left a note inquiring about it... nothing. Last night, the truck and the trailer with Z attached was gone. Never heard it start up and leave.
Today, it's back! None of my neighbors know anything about it. Weird. I just want to know what the story is, and if the guy is willing to unload it for cheap due to the front end damage. It might not even run for all I know. It's just sitting there driving me crazy!
Rod.

get some window paint stuff teenager's use. i don't think they will miss that, Give them a pice you are willing to pay for it for the way it apper's to you, maby the'll call you and let you look closer at it. Or if there is a Company name on the truck, call them and ask about it, they might pass the word to the car owner. make it impossible for the car owner to not see that you want it.

I guess while you're making up the 30' banner to hang over the car with your phone number and offer on it consider it Could be they just bought it cause somebody was selling it cheap cause the front was damaged

It's not a tow truck, it's just an old chevy with what looks like a rented tow dolly on the back. I left another note on it today. I have yet to see anybody near it. I've been on an almost stake-out from my front porch... constantly scanning for activity. So far, nothing. From the amount of rust on the brake rotors, this car has not been driven for quite a while. It may not even run. All that is fine with me if the price is right... Assuming it's even for sale

good luck man. i've been hunting for a z32 myself, and it gets frustrating. there are not a whole lot of them to choose from in my area, and the ones i have found out of town end up selling before i can get a chance to fly out to them. oh well, i'm looking at something this weekend that may be the one.

Z32's cost less than $8000 USD now in Washington. Most of them are high milage but run good still. I've seen some as low as $3500 in good shape and running fine. well, good for a 14 year old car...
2+2 auto is a family car... but still fine if that's the kind of Z you want

I was mainly interested in it, because my wife really wants a Z to call her own and a 2+2 Auto Z32 would be perfect for her. She likes the color of the mysteriously parked Z down the street too so it's a double bonus kinda thing. Me personally, when I get my Z32, it's going to be an all black Twin turbo or nothing at all...

Hey rod, theres a 2+2 posted on 3zc for $1500, currently in Carlsbad. Has broken T-belt with bent valves. Don't remember if it's a/t or not. Look in the LAZ32 club section and the for sale section. It's had some money put into it in the last year. Looks like a good deal to me for needing engine work.

Hell $1500 for the whole car. And a timing belt and getting the valves replaced wont cost very much. If the pistons are damaged then you can even pick up an entire engine for about what you pay for that car. Of course then we're talking about a lot of work so it depends on if you're looking for turn key right off the bat. My wife is also looking for a Z32. She wants a 350Z but it's not in here budget right now. So far shes looked at a red convertible. She laughed at it and told the kid he was gay He got all heated and I told him she doesn't like red or convertibles. The whole way home she just kept ranting about why the hell would someone want a convertible Z. She said a red convertible is such a chick car. Oh and the reason she called the guy gay is because his add said the car was black and didn't mention anything about it being convertible. So he got what he deserved

So I finally figured out why I got no response to the notes I left on the car... I was outside and finally saw the guy who owns it getting into the truck so I ran over to talk to him. Turns he no hablo ingles. I explained that espanol es mui dificil para me, and he said "oh!, Si... Mui dificil, no hablo espanol?" Yeah, so there's a bit of a language barrier. I did manage to determine that the "Carro no trobajo" (Car doesn't work) and that he doesn't know what's wrong with it. So, I'm going to have a friend translate so I can figure it out. He did seem intersted in selling it though. Stay tuned.
