dump sacked

Iam sick of my 4x4 ....so...I have a extra set of springs from the gold peice of crap out back ...Me and grey_ae86 are going to cut the spring from the gold car and put them on The Black.....I will post pics and let you all know how it turns out ....We are just going to take a coil or two out of each strut and put the struts and everything from the gold car to my car....That way if i dont like how it rides or we mess a coil up i can put my stock ones back on ....
I want this black bitch to sit on the ground ....Dump sack time

If they're the same diameter... go for it. I've used springs from a Mercedes 300D on my Z before. Stiff as hell & got rid of the squat.... Tho it felt like I was driving on a trampoline.

nice bro! looks like a good ride height... hopefully you don't drag going over a speedbump or driveway.

Gray and I cut one more coil out off the front ...Just befor we ran out of light ..I will post more pics of it in the moring when i get some more light ...Now the front is sitting on the ground!!!.i didnt like it befor it just wasnt low eff in the front but now its slam tucken .I took her out for a little night run and man o man kick out city ..it scared the **** out of me ...Its stiff as **** you when you push on it there is little to know bounce ..I love the feel of her now ..I dont have to go near as fast into the corner to make it break out ...It pushes power to the wheels so much better.....Iam stoked ..There is little to no under streer when you whip it around in a parking lot or corner kick out ......The front pushes though and not away from the corner ..Now that i have pulled it apart and know how it all works under there i realy want coil overs but owell ..I will live with this untell i get money for the goods....MORE PICS TOMARROW FOR SURE

that is slammed! wow....
and your easy kick out in the rear might possibly be due to toe out that happens when lowering the rear of the 280ZX. Drifters do that on purpose so the rear can loose traction easier. Just wait till you take it up over 60... the rear will wander. Mine does just a little from the springs sagging about and inch.
Now you need some 15x8 zero offset wheels, yo!

Yikes! Wander as in "lose control" or "easy to kick out" ?

Some camber and all the caster you can get are good on a street car. Toe out is BAD! Especially rear toe out.

No regularly driven street car should have any toe out on the rear. At highway speeds it can make the back end very squirrelly.

If there are any ruts or irregularities in the road from heavy traffic the back end will tend to 'climb' up the sides of the ruts and when you correct it, it'll swap back to the other side and climb up that rut. It can be very entertaining...

On my race car, I had 1/8" toe out on the rear and 1/4" toe out on the front. This helps the car turn in more responsively, but can make driving on the street down right dangerous. Remember, race tracks tend to be much better maintained than your local municipal streets.

I get a very slight rear pull now and then on the freeway like you mentioned and my springs are sagging so the back is lowered. That's common on the ZX if you don't do something to correct the toe.

I know its not just the road because my truck with a rear solid axel drives very straight on the same freeway.

Toe is good for GT4. Bad for street car. My ZX2 had some serious toe issues to due to some rear end damage from an unfortunate jumping incident and that car was just down right scary to drive on anything but dry smooth roads. If it started raining or snowing it was over. That was spun off the road so many times from poor weather. That left me scarred for a while after driving it that way for so long.

i love the feeling of it .....it was a kick out beast ,like that last night in the wet... but today in the dry it was corner king all the way ...i snaped a few shots in the drive way ..the extra coil cut made the front look so much better ...handling wize it stiff and ruff as ****...but i like the feel ..i just have to be very carefull in and out of parking lots and speed bummps ..my header is the lowest point......
so i really got to watch it ....

anyway it looks tuff and drives savagely ...coil overs in the future...and new bushings ...aluminum rate. or elc. fan for sure i want to keep this motor cold come summer time .....

i bought my friends improperly lowered z with camber issues, it was bad to drive over 55 mph. if you can do the adjustments, id do them to save tires and the unwanted spin into oncoming traffic my friend did. otherwise it looks great.

My girl is very picky about how a car rides ..She rode in it tonight and she loved it ..She was like , i thought it would be all bouncy but its realy stiff ...I dont like the ride hight offerd on lowerd springs for zx 1.5 inches is a joke .So i think iam going to get stiffer lowering springs and then cut a coil or to OFF of them..... not right now but someday ..i wish i could cut and reweld the perch on the struts ..but we CANT all have it eazy like the ae86 owners hmmhmhmh Gray....
if freaken coil overs wheren't so taxed then ...well you all know ahhahah .anyway iam stoked out she is alot more fun to drive and iam getting alot more used to going over bummpyes and parking lot in and outs ....kick out how ever are bigger scaryer but more controlded and eazyer push though ...all in all another great cheap mod that any back yard drifter needs to try at least once .....
