The key i have from my old 88 Maxima opens and starts almost every single nissan i have tried it in, including my ZX, my 95 Maxima, my friend's 95 maxima, his z32... The only car it doesn't work on is my dad's 03 Maxima, but that one wouldn't start anyway because it's got a transpornder chip in the real key. And then there was this one Mitsubishi Montero that blocked me in while i was at a party, i bet he was quite confused when he found his truck parked across the street after i left
Oh yeah, absolutely every single key that would fit in the ignition will start my ZX, so i just leave a key in there all the time

Hmmm maybe someone should make an fingerprint access key(like mercedes or lexus) to our cars so that we'll need one of our fingers to open up the car and not worry about other people using keys to open up our cars unless they cut one our fingers off but thats doubtly.

Hey you could always do what that guy did in South Africa with his BMW. He had a flame thrower setup, so when you got to close or touched it when the system was armed you wouldd end up getting quite toasty. I could see it now some kids near it roasting marshmellows.. lol

Anti theft devices
I agree it's very frustrating knowing our cars are vunerable to theft. For myself I use a sterring wheel cub, a brake lock, and two wheel locks, one on the back wheel and one on a front wheel. (similair to wheel boots that police use to stop drivers from driving their cars away) I am hopeful hardware devices such as these will slow down or frustrate the would be theif to give up or not try.

Well, back during the 280 years, Nissan was listening and learning. When I bought my first 300ZX in 1986, my insurer cut my basic insurance costs because it was a car that was 'hard to steal' according to them.
The fact that only a key in the ignition will disable the steering wheel lock - which locks the steering when you try to turn the wheel - and that the factory alarm would (flash and beep and) disable starting without a door/ignition key available - I guess they were part of those improvements. They worked well enough because I have no evidence that anyone ever tried to steal my 300ZX. Very cool - but it never stops you from worrying about it. So I always added yet another alarm system. Overkill, or now it looks like that.
