Electrical Problems
Okay so I have a 1983 280zx, and I have no interior lights no instrument lights no gauge lights and no door chime, no anything. All my fuses inside the car are good. My fuseable link was changed to a maxi fuse setup. Can anyone tell me what to look for?

look at the car interior fuses. passenger side at foot level. the fusible link supplies power to that panel. and that panel distributes power to subsystems via multiple fuses.
did you check them with a vom. do you have power to that panel from the fusible links. you need to use a vom. only way to reliably check on power in a certain place.

i had a problem today, dont solve your problem this way btw. i had no interior lights such as gauges and the heater switch lights, also that means no brake or running lights. so i check the fuses and the clear tail lamp fuse is blown. so i replace it watch it and as soon as i turn my light switch i can see the fuse pop. so being the dumb *** i am and not thinking about things. i put a 30 amp fuse in the 15 amp spot and under my steering wheel starts smoking.... ****! so i pull the plastic cover off and i see these little blue led light wires the previous owner put in were melting. so i cut them out snipped the wires and tried my last 15amp fuse. everything works. so look for shorts, grounds, corrosion and **** wires. dont be like me. do things right. i deffinitely got lucky

Yes I have to agree! After a few hellish hours of the car laughing at me. I got the war paint out and a jump wire for the fuse. Turned out it was rust in the front turn signal socket. Only way I found it was when the wire started smokeing by the bumper.
