engine shuts off when opening oil fill cap.

engine shuts off when opening oil fill cap.

got a strange problem; every time i open the oil cap while the engine is running it shuts off.Anyone got any ideas?

It is also a good thing because it means you (probably) don't have any vacuum leaks.

thanks guys.i played with these engines years ago before the efi.new to efi systems .never mess with it too much.guess i'll learn as i go along.

see the large black hose from the valve cover to the intake? that would be your cap induced vacuum leak. un metered air in that sort of volume will cause the engine to die.
