Yea did that trick if I had a stronger hand bet I could stall it. . . . The exhaust is over kill and being a machinist I can tell its been tig welded nicely no joints solid welds on rubber hangers does bang a bit due to being solid. Its getting in I agree have to bump it out more now I look at it the tip is an inch behind the bumper

It might just be one of those things where you don't find out until one day your taking of the bumpers or something and see this giant gaping hole thats letting exhaust in or something, but I would keep a carbon monoxide detector in the car just in case.

I had the fumes, and I smelled like exhaust in my '82. Then after I replaced the tail light gaskets, and the main hatch gaskets. The smell didn't come in the cockpit. The thing I noticed after putting the cat back on. Was my Z was a little quieter, and had a little more power. Plus it didn't smell as bad. I used to put the test pipe on, and swap it every two years for smog. Then I decided to leave the cat on this last time.

Also wanted to mention. My cat is a Magnaflow direct bolt in cat for the 280zx. It was about $130 or so from Checker, or which is now 'O Reilly's.
