Exhaust Manifold

Does any one know where i can get a new exhaust manifold for my 83 turbo?

I called Nissan Parts and they want 330 for the part, must be ordered.

I took it by a shop and they quoted 800 parts and labor...
since i have a broken stud the have to take the head off and drill out
bigger studs to make it stronger.

i was also told that my manifold is warped and i should not get a used one because it may be warped already.

OK I JUST GOT OFF THE PHONE WITH COURTESY NISSAN AND THE SAID NO ONE IN THE COUNTRY HAS IT AND IF THEY WERE TO ORDER IT FROM JAPAN.
WHO KNOWS WHEN IT COULD GET HERE..BECAUSE OF THE DISASTER!!! BUT IT COST $243 PLUS 40 Shipping
Nissan plant closed untill march 20th in japan!! but who knows what could happen.

any thoughts?

I guarantee (99%) that it's not warped... the shop is only saying that because it probably burnt through the gasket, ACTUALLY DUE TO THE BROKEN STUD. This is a common problem on the L28's... and even if it actually was warped, do like PontiacKid just said and get it surfaced for $20 at a local machine shop.

Also... you can find turbo manifolds all over... you don't have to buy a brand new one.

Or..... you could save yourself a lot of time, and money, and just stick a straight edge or level across the face the manifold... and take a look yourself. Use some feeler gauges to check if there are any high / low spots. No need to draw things out here...
