the final stages!! omg!
lol hey guys
pretty pumped atm, just finished lightly sanding down the gray primer on my Z, its so smooth and sexy looking.
Its uni hols here atm so i thought that id take a week off and respray my Z, 'cough cough' 4 weeks later i finally finish preping the body a de-rusting her and i got the primer on last sunday.
its looking tops atm, and i cant wait till we can get the top coat on this weekend, as its going to rain till then
heres my dilemma....... i got no farking clue what colour to paint her
she is white atm, so i guess white is the most likley atm because it would be the easiest to do. but the i kinda want an individual car that stands out. so what do u guys think??????
any suggestions would be nice, im seriously thinking about yellow. maybe black bu all the trim is black so it might be too much.
hmm yellow...no black....whites the easiest......hmmmm ****!

White undercoat will make most light colors pop, so maybe a pearl white, or perhaps a silver, as was mentioned. I always thought that white looked really good on a Z. Yellow would also be real cool...

THERE IS A YELLOW ZX HERE IN THIS TOWN ....it cool looking but it is a 1980 ...i think it # 3408 or something of the annvi. edition ....they shouldn't have painted this car but owell..... it looks good i guess and that's all the matters ......

You want unique. Paint it pink with an airbrushing of an exgirlfriend naked on the hood in green and then finish it off with some yellow chrome tint and Rainbow wheels. Now thats unique You're never gonna come across any car that looks like yours, let alone a Z. If that's not really your taste, well then take someone elses advice. Me, I'm gonna paint mine white, cause I think it'll go best with any CF I put on her. What you should be asking for instead of what color, is for people to post pics of their cars so you can see what they look like in different colors. I think that would be a better way for you to choose. Or even any car in a nice color.

haha yeh the air brushed exgirlfriend might stir up my current girl friend a little, with would be funny if it wasnet permanently on the bonnet......
i had concidered silver as well as almost every other colour i guess, but im thinking yellow now above the others, im not going with white as the car has been white for eva and after spending the best part of 5 weeks working my *** off to restore her i dont really want to paint it white again
so yellow it is....i think
the car is primed gray at the moment, would i need to undercoat her white before using a yellow automotive acrylic? or would the yellow work with the gray underneath?
ill post pics asap too.

The grey will work but you'd probably need more yellow to achieve the color your after. A white undercoator very light grey will really bring the yellow out nice and bright. A darker primer is good if you wan't to achieve a deeper, darker final color. Also, make sure you use a good primer made for automotive or you may end up with cracks and poor paint adhesion in the future.

so i think the primer is good, im just goin to go over the top of the grey i think rather than go for the white first.
