Finally Pics!

Never thought this day would get here but here are the pics of my new paint and restoration to this point.

Rod was right... BLACK AND SILVER ARE FOR Z CARS!

This one is for the website that made this possible! Your knowledge is awesome! ZDRIVER.COM ROCKS !!!

The CRAP in the background is my neighbor's porch, not mine!

Recovered seats, not really pleased but...

Finally can tell the carpet is Red, changed from silver, looks great !

Swapped in digital speedometer traded with Wreckedj30...
padded armrest with cupholders and shift **** from MSA only interior mods!

Chrome louvers bought from BLEACH's clearance sale...
Should they stay chrome or paint black?

Well, that is where it stands right now.

Need to do:
1. struts and springs
2. dash cap (coming soon, I know how to deal- the wife gets a camera, haha)
3. settle radio issue - stock with fm modulator for cd, new cd player, or cassette cd adapter.
4. minor tuneup

Tell me what you think?

Nice paint Job!

The silver and black looks really good. How much did this set you back? I'm planning to paint both my Z's this coming summer.

The Chrome louvers look alright. I'd paint them black or a silver closer to the car. eitherr way It'll come out looking better.

Is it just me or is that car missing something? Ahh yes, it needs a black spoiler on it to complete the car...like a mini whale tail.

Yes, I have been looking for a small wing on the back and .... I know that some of you dont like them, ... but black rear louvers. NO Thxone, but I did intend to mention that I got the talking lady from you and a spare one from Wrecked. The paint job ran about $ 900, of which $400 was for labor and $50 booth rental.

I am only teasing about the lady....have you ever thought to do like I did with my sail panels?

See it completes the car.

That looks better than chrome. Is yours flat black or gloss?
The silver is the Datsun platinum stock color and the black is HUMMER black.
But I used all the black and it is $22 a quart , my painters cost. They may could mix me up a spray can of it, I'll have to see. Thanks for the photoshop idea.

Wow man, that Z is real friggin' clean! Mad props dude, great paint scheme, and the interior looks great also. Me personally I would leave the side pillars the way they are. Maybe even paint a little red inside them. I painted the inside of mine cobalt metallic blue. Just no pics of them yet. I also do like the different color carpet in the back, and the front. Looks great that way, and I really dig the seat covers. Really goes great with the rest of the car. Also I wouldn't want to see you ruin that nice paint on the hatch with rear louvers. Just darken the tint, on the back windows. It would look much cleaner, but a rear spoiler would be nice.

All in all, that is a fantastic job, on your Z. Thanks for sharing it with us.

wonderful paint job. Leave those clearance sale side pillars their natural silver finish. Looks good as it is.

Don't fear change....do what looks best to those sail panels....my way..lol J/K
They look good both ways in my opinion. I do think that painted black it would follow the paint well behind the T-Tops though.

i like the side sails in the stock trim of chrome/silver. once you paint them you cant go back. hit the scrap yard and test on a set. cause those ones you got are too nice to paint. paint looks great on the car, you musta started out with a great car, little rust. and the red accents on the body and the seats really tie it all together

slick. Excellent retro look. Nice seats, the red trim is sweet.
I also am a fan of louvres. Go for it!
