FS: 83 280zx $400

i bought this car for $400 with the intention of making it a daily driver, and eventually swapping in an rb25det, but i cant figure out the electrical problem, the tails, turn signals, horn, electric windows dont work, along with some gauges, and i just dont feel like messing with it anymore. its a 5spd, with t-tops, and body is in really good shape, only a little bit of rust, you can feel free to email me with any questions, or to request pics. i have all the interior pieces, but its pretty much stripped out so i could trace all the wiring, i have a haynes manual and some misc parts. the price is not negotiable, as i paid 400, and i have to break even on this car. i dont think its a bad price for a running car.

email me at timnmary@nc.rr.com

Wookieballa your a good guy and who ever picks that zx up is going to be
one happy **** looks very clean thanks for posting the pics if i lived closer i would jump on it my z has set me back this month really that car is worth $2500 if it drives good and runs nice....the electrical problem can be fixed ..it mostly likely is the fuseable links OR THE SWITCH ON THE WHEEL the switch is your best bet ...........pull the wheel and the use snap ring P's and pull the switch and replace it and go drifting $400

i just dont feel like tinkering with this thing, i found a switch in a box in my garage, and traded them out, but its the same, who knows if the spare was bad too though, thats probably why i have it, it went out, and the previous owner changed it, and kept the bad one for the hell of it. anyway, its got to go, so anyone needing a straight body, or body panels, and engine etc, come get it, the t-tops are in really good shape, etc.

if you look at the rear shots of the car, the rust is on the lower right corner of each tail light, and thats pretty much all the rust on the car, just those two spots, and both are on the tail lights. im pretty sure thats all the rust

well, i just picked up a 76 celica that im thinking of swapping in an sr20det, so this one still has to go, i really wanted an older model z, but this one was so cheap, so i grabbed it up, and now i really like this celica, so instead of fighting with the datsuns electrical problem, i would rather do an engine swap, and have an old celica. i really set out to get an rx3, or a 510, but this celica was free, so i jumped on it, threw in a new battery, ( car was parked for 12yrs) turned the key, and it turned right over. didnt start, but it turned over, and all electronics work, so im really happy with that. but datsun has to go no matter what, i cant have 4 cars in the yard, s14 240sx, IS300, 1st gen celica, and datsun z

no one needs a parts car? i may consider parting it out too, since no one wants it. so if you need anything send me an email with the item you want, and an offer, its a 2 seater, na, 5spd, t-tops etc. im only shooting for $400 total, so help a guy out, whats left will be trashed, or sent to the junk yard.

How far are you from the VA border? Im moving there in a week or so, and if you're close I might come check the car out. Hows the hood? I'm looking for a turbo syle and I know that year came with that syle hood on all the cars. I also need a 5spd and a few misc. parts. Hell, I might take the whole car if your close enough. I'll be in the Virginia Beach/Suffolk area which is basically on the coast on the southern border.

I'm interested in the whole car, I just don't know when I could make the trip. I will keep looking at this post and see if it is still available when I can make the trip. Great price, by the way!
