Fuel Injector Holder Question
The fuel injector holders appear to be made of some sort of plastic. Is that necessary to prevent heat transfer from the head to the injector? Several of mine are cracked and I'd like to machine some new ones but I suspect they are plastic to provide heat insulation.
Thanks, John

The cracked plastic will not hurt you as long as the two rubber seals are in good shape. I bought new holders with new seals and the holders cracked uppon installation. Same thing happened a second time so I left it. No leaks after 60K miles.
I did pull some aluminum holders from the injectors off a 1975 280Z. I'm sure you can machine your own or just get them off the older Z. I'll put mine in if I ever need to replace the injectors again.

Thanks, I'll leave the cracked ones in for now. I was concerned that heat transfered from the head to the injectors would be a problem. I don't know much about Z-Cars. First time I ever drove or even rode in one was about ten days ago. Thanks again for your help and patience.
