Heater questions
Ok so ive spent all day replacing my heater core, and water **** I have the heater unit back in and hooked up, double checked everything, but before I put the whole dash back in I wanted to test to see if everything worked, no leaks etc...
Heres all i get; so the blower only turns on if its set to DEF, and only blows out cool air no warm air plus no other vents. I've checked and checked vaccum lines, plugs etc. Do I have to have the dash back in and hooked up to get everything to work right? Is there something I may have forgotten? Thanks

hey jcubz how hard was it to tear the dash apart? i'm kinda having the same issue but i have manual air. i only get air on defrost or heater and it's cold. i can go down the road though and it gets warm. i know the actuator is vacuum operated. and i checked and my radiator and overflow is full of coolant.

Taking the dash out is hella easy, but the heater core is another thing... check your water **** they go bad fairly easy. Its a pain to get to it but it fixed my heat problem untill my core went bad.... the dash only has 8 bolts/screws holding it on. You have to take the center console out as well as the kicker panels.

well it was working, but i don't know how well. i bought the car four days ago. i'm really having real problems cold starting it. it starts fine at 40 degrees but if it hits the twenties, the car just cranks and won't turn over. i'm pretty sure my cold start valve is good, but i'm not sure if i'm getting good fuel pressure while it's cold. definitely can't warm it up in the winter with the heat acting up like this though. lol
