Exclamation Help...Vibration/Buzzing in Shifter

I asked this question in a previous post, but the buzzing has gotten worse so I figured I'd start a new thread...

"the shifter seems to have a buzzing come from it while driving...it is mainly when in 2nd and 5th gears, but it is like a sound you hear from an electric razor. Sometimes it's louder as I shift gears, but constant when in those two"

Now...I put in a shorter shifter and used the recommended brass bushings from Help and the problem sounds worse. It is really loud in 1st, 3rd and 5th, and just a minor buzz in 2nd and 4th.

It is quiet when not moving, but the faster I go, the louder it gets. There doesn't seem to be any correlation between the clutch and shifting, it is just when I drive.

A couple suggestions given were the throwout bearing and the input bearing. Where are these and would I have to drop the transmission to get to them? I will check the fluid level this weekend unless someone thinks that might be the issue and it's urgent to fix.

---Another thread mentioned it wouldn't be the throwout because that would make noise when the clutch is pressed...they suggested it might be the pilot bearing. any feedback?---

Thanks for any help!

To be honest it sounds more like you need to refill your transmission with oil. As for those 2 bearings you would have to pull the tranny out to change them. I dont think a pilot bushing/bearing would make noise like that.

reading another post someone had similar symptoms and said it might be a countershaft bearing or main bearing, but it was never confirmed, so not sure if it is that or not.

okay, i checked the fluid this weekend and it was fine, and i also took the shifter out again and put back in some plastic bushings from the dealer...they were a tighter fit than the orig plastic bushings. the cup at the bottom was fine. the sound isn't as bad now, but there is still that buzzing when the car is moving. at idle it doesn't vibrate, but when moving it does in any gear, but more in 5th and less in 4th, the rest are all average loudness. even with the clutch pressed in, it still vibrates until i come to a stop. so not sure what to do or if i should just leave it.

If you're at a stop and you rev the engine, does it buzz then?

Have an aftermarket **** installed?

If yes Put back the ugly OEM..they tend to vibrate, the solution was the ugly massive **** made of a RUBBERY compound to absorb the vibes...a hat for the cascabel tail
