Crap Crap Caaaaaappppppp!!!!!!

The '79 is not doing so good. Water in - Water out. Somewhere in the front of the engine compartment is a hell of a leak. I almost fried the engine on a 2 mile trip. I watched the temp needle move to the 270 degree mark very quickly. I also watched the water pour out of the car almost as fast as I poured it in, but i could not spot the leak...it is somewhere on the passenger side of the radiator, or the right front of the engine. The engine is not happy and has now started acting weird...I hope it is just the lack of water. ****ing Nissan.

It is actually very nice outside...apparently Nissan can't make disposable parts that last more than 130,000+ miles I am not mad...I am just not looking forward to pulling apart two cars to fix one....but then again, I have nothing better to do.

I just went out and filled the radiator and BAM it is the water pump. The water started pouring out from behind the pulley as soon as the water level rose to it...cool, I have a good water pump on my turbo...should take 45 minutes or so when I get to it. We have now downgraded from "****ing Nissan" to "Damn Nissan"

Hey, I am still with the Nissan...doesn't mean I have to be happy with her when she screws me.

Am I crazy or are you? Apparently Nissan is the only company who makes water pumps that go out? Who's to say the pump is even original?

I must be crazy.

I think it says NISSAN on the pump...I am almost sure I saw that...it's no big deal...even if it isn't original I still have to pull it. My mood has been calm the whole time, I am just being a ...well a smart ***...I ain't mad aboot it. Hell, maybe THAT is the screeching sound...my ears are screwy. I will let you all know...since I will be working on it I might as well swap the fuel pumps...anyone want to buy the T3 and J-Pipe?

Ok, I found part of the problem...the fan is missing a blade...the whole blade is gone...just gone. I think this may be part of the reason the water pump went out...out of balance. Looks like the Turbo has achieved P. C. S. "Parts Car Status"

Nissan is the only company that makes a water pump for the L-series that can last 130,00+ miles.

Buy one from Shucks that is made in Thailand and see how long it lasts...

Other than the ECU connection...nothing as far as I know. Don't say it....I have no way to swap it...trust me, I would,

Back on the water pump...as soon as I loosened the belt, the pulley just started flopping around...pretty sure the shaft broke. OUCH!

So render a turbo motor useless to save a non turbo... by swapping on an already used pump. Why not buy a new pump that will last more than another 5k miles?

The turbo car is a hazard...brakes, leaks, rust...it's a long list...a Z is a Z so I want to save the one I can drive. unless I get rid of the turbo I can fix it later or part it out or whatever...I am keeping the head in case I get another turbo car. But I don't want two cars I cant drive so I must sacrifice some parts to keep one running.

Here is a video of the water pump problem...
