How much do 4.1 LSDs go for?

R200 gears are R200 gears...
From a quick Google-machine search, it sounds like only the Aussies have talked about it (or cared...):
Wtb. R200 4.1 Lsd Diff. ** Longnose Only ** - Skylines Australia
If you are up to the SUPER high price (probably several hundred dollars in shipping alone), and the not-the-best-solution way of doing this, start asking on the Australia / NZ forums.

Is anyone on this form running one or seen how much they go for? I have read that link before but again it says nothing about price, beside he's willing to pay alot for one. I would also like to know how it would do in a 280zx.

I really doubt anyone on this forum is running that super rare JDM / Aus / NZ Skyline diff on their Z. In the 5 minutes I've spent on Google searching for you, the obviously loud and clear answer (of which I already stated) would be to check out the Australian Nissan forums.
Apparently you are searching this out for a friend? So he's willing to pay a super high price for the rare factor, rather than using a normal Z31T CLSD and sourcing a 4.1 gear?

What was the original purpose (question) of this thread?
You asked how much they go for, and what they are from... I posted a quote of what they came from and you said you already read it... then you asked again how much they go for, because "he's willing to pay a lot" and you are searching for one for you ... now you already have one and you are just going to install it?
This is soap opera material right here.

Well, I'd say $600-$1000 to buy a Z31T CLSD and change the ring gear to 4.1... so if you paid less than that, then you probably didn't get too ripped off.
I bought my Z31T CLSD on ebay around 6 years ago for $630. Then 2 years ago I found an 87 Z31T in a junk yard and paid I think $60 for it's CLSD... then sold it for $600.
BTW, unless you plan on only driving the car on the 1/4 track, or racing everyone stoplight to stoplight, you will hate a 4.1 gear ratio.
4x4 rock crawlers use 4.1 ratio diffs.
