How much money do you have into your Z??????

Just wondering roughly how much money all you guys have dumped into your cars. I was just thinking about how much I have "invested" in mine. And I got to figure withe the price of my car, rstoration and performance I must have over $5k in mine, Im sure theres a bunch of little things I forgot... but that soesnt seem to bad.

How about the rest of you????

About 15-17K at last count, and it's still an ugly POS!

I've invested so far close to 2K in mine, and I've only had my ZX since February '06. By this year's end I'll be close to 5K once I'm done rebuilding the engine.

I would say 1000-2000 dollars, or so. Still going on this one though. Bought the Z for $200, put $300 into it. And he still ran like crap, because of 3 bad cylinders. Did the motor swap, had to get a clutch kit. Redid over 90% of my interior. Still need suspension, new tires. And eventually a turbo swap also. Still a ways to go, but it is worth it.

the last thing a married man wants is ammunition for his wife to use against him. If I dont know how much I've put into my car then I can't tell and I wont have to lie about it. I can honestly say I have absolutely no idea how much money has gone into my [ex]Z. I plan to keep it that way with pretty much any car I own Makes life easier and I dont have to lie to my wife about it

I'm not really sure. Still got a buttload of parts in the closet to go on, though. I know this: if I had $15k, I could easily spend it on the Z and still not be happy...

Agreed, maybe if the car came like that and you installed the engine, or maybe youre not including the price of the car.

If that is the price for everything then daymn ive been doing something really wrong.

So far for me I've kept it at around $4800 and hope not to go over 5000 once the interior is done.

That includes the original $800 purchase price of the car. I did alot of bartering and scrounging for the pieces I added. Nothing has been done to the exterior since I bought it (yet) except for wheels/tires..
The money all went into the engine, driveline and suspension.
