Smile hp

so my car has 268,526 on it hasn't been to well taken care of the most previous owner beat it a little harsh like and no service was really done to it so today i got it on the dyno at the college and im only putting 102 horse to the ground 112 ft-lbs. of torque just wondering what your mostly stock z's are putting down or if that sounds right. i think i remember reading an article about the factory being like 145 horse or so?

my Z, with ~138K (at the time) and a fresh head (stock rebuild) laid down 112.9whp and 145ft lbs. if your car is auto (like your sig says) then that would explain the extra loss in power.

should note that my car was running the stock exhaust, no cat, and a Flowmaster muffler, along with a cone-filter.

with my exhaust, intake manifold, KA throttlebody, header, Cressy AFM, shaved intake, etc. she laid down 130whp and 152ft lbs.

these L motors are extremely robust, it takes a ton of neglect to truly hurt the L series engine. you would be very surprised.

I had a 400K engine that would still smoke threw third, Mods were-240SX T/B with ported intake, and short exhuast. That was also with a 81 Man-Trans and R180 3.90

You have the slightly better engine with the flat tops. I would expect more than 102 from it. More like 120-130whp stock if it was in perfect condition.

One of my newer Z-cars put down 247whp completely stock.

When I got it fully loaded semi's would pull away from it at a light, so it's a lot better then it was... I'm tempted to yank it out of the car and drag it behind my truck till all thats left is a few chunks of metal laying on the road.

According to the Pocket Dyno app on my iPhone the max my 79' N/A 5spd has laid down is 126 whp and 0-60 in 8.29, the only mod is a msa exhaust.

Actually, the 120's are pretty uncommon. 110's are the norm for a stock L28E.

Hehhe I'll never forget pulling away from a light on a hill in a 77 MBZ 300d. The loaded semi flatbed steel truck ahead ofme walked away, and I was flat out. Funny part was I drove that car to Mexico, once on the freeway it was fine. It would cruise 80-90 no problems.

Just the other night I went against a guy in the new Eclipse (2009), don't know what kind it was or what model, I just know it was the new shape. I burnt his **** pretty good. I was just really excited to share that with you folks and don't want to start a new thread.
Maybe I am not that old and senail...
