i remeber trying to get the harmonic balancer off my 1983 280zxt 2+2 i belive it was a 27mm socket ... 1/2 with a torque bar i belive the longer torque bar works better for me the 2 foot long one.. pull the e-brake put the car in 1st? or was it reverse.. ? then give it a good wack with the 2 lb rubber mallet works wonders for me... then with a shallow crowbar u can wedge it inback of the balancer and slowly tap the top and bottom from behind the balancer... or trust me u can snap off little bits of the harmonic balancer i had to buy a new one ! lol try to get the balancer pully kit...
at least your cam was in the right place... i got the 280zxt 83 with the cam up side down.. no wonder why it didint start !
