Talking I hope I am lucky!

Ok, here is the skinny. I was driving back home from a Burger King when out of the corner of my eye (just like my gold 280zx) I spot the familiar shape of the 280zx headlight buckets and hood bulge. What did I see you ask? I saw a 1982 Nissan 280zx Slicktop 5 speed coupe!!! White with red interior, leather seats, A/C!!!! 1 owner...90,000 miles!!!! The factory '82 service manual is in the hatch!!!! The car is 95% perfect....well what can you expect..it is 25 years old. No rust whats so ever and I mean none. I have told myself yet again "I will have this car" So I may need to sacrifice my gold 280 as a down payment on this beautiful ZX. The interior looks and smells so new and those low back leather seats...oh man I think I need to touch myself....I turned the key and she fired right up so I turned on the A/C and it was fricken freezing...everything works on it and all the buttons feel stiff and new....I want this car in a bad bad way.

I am to call the guy tomorrow as he has not put a price on the car yet...he said he may put it on the internet...I hope not. He ask me what I thought he could get for it and I was as honest as I could be and said between $3000 and $4000...it's not a turbo I said. It has the temp thing on the dash which makes me think it is in fact an '83 and not an '82...unless the '82 also had that as an option. I will keep you all updated and if I can get myself into this car I will post a naked vid of myself laying on the hood of it

Right on... but $3k-$4k? oofa! I wouldn't pay that even if it were a turbo.

eh... $2.5k max. I'm personally not into big spendin on a 280zx. I've picked up more than a handful of good ones for less than $500. Now a 240z... that I could see a reason for big spendin. That's just my opinion / experiences tho. Three of those 280zx's I got for $100 from people just knowing me as the local "Z Guy." Others I've found on online classifieds...

If this statement is true I strongly suggest you dont get this car or any car for that matter

But seriously sounds like a nice car. I would usually agree with Nismo by saying that is a bit pricey for a non turbo but after looking back on all the time and money I have into restoring my car, It pays off to get a car thats already in good shape. You should really post some pics so we can really get a feel for what it's worth so......

Ii just wanted an excuse to use that picture

On The Plus Side It Is A Slick Top... On The Other Hand I Like Your Gold Z. You Don't See That Color That Often.

the right car in the wrong hands..unfortunatly is more of a sight that a find..so good can go both ways: garage queen for another 25 years or unique daily driver..but for what they have in mind you better off waiting/looking for a turbo

The guy has my number, I told him if he gets tired of sitting on the car at that price he can call me and we can work something out for under $3,000. In the mean time I am going back to talk to the guy with the 1979 coupe and offer him $300....I think he will go for it and then I will have my 5 speed and the rest is appearance and a little performance

WOW, that is a clean car. After looking at what some cars are going for on ebay that may be very well worth the price to right person. I wouldnt hesitate buying it if it was a turbo.

Ok, here is the deal...he said that if I refer a buyer to him he will pay me some money....I already have it in his head that $6,000 probably won't happen so if any of you know someone who wants a like new 1982...(could be and '83 with the auto temp control) 280zx slicky with 97,xxx miles and ice cold a/c, leather and a 5-speed here is the info on contacting this guy...normally I wouldn't pimp a used car guys stuff but this ZX needs a good home, I would hate to see some young punk get it and put a coffee can on the back and put pink body panels on it with neon lights. Someone on the net should be able to talk this guy down and get this awesome car. It is in better shape than the 1995 Nissan Sentra GXE I had with 50,000 miles and it looked new so come on guys, let's keep this car with a Z person...pass on the info to others you know...dare I say, on other "Z" sites..cough cough. "It still has a factory 1982 Service manual in the hatch area, also like new"

it is a very clean car but I myself would not pay 6k for it, maybe 2500. If it had closer to 50k orig miles then yeah great deal. If it was a turbo though....droool.

It looks like the reflection of the power lines shining in the rear hatch window. Yeah I could see, how it would look like the window is cracked. Kind of tripped me out at first. Until I looked at it more closely.
