I think I found a parts car
I was driving my awesome 280zx last night and saw a 2+2 sitting on the side of a Goodyear tire store. I stopped by today and talked with one of the tire guys who tells me the guy who owns the car was supposed to call him before Christmas so he could get the car. Well he has not called but I gave the guy at the shop my number anyway because he said he thinks the guy will be getting rid of it cheap as he thought the car would be worth money, but as he found out zx's really aren't. The shop guy told me it has some problems and the car sat for like 3 years. It is a 2+2, Silverish, T-tops, Factory 6 spoke rims, 5-speed, Black and silver interior, Temp sensor on dash, Analog gauges, 155,XXX miles, '82 or '83, minor front end damage and a small crack in the dash.
I fondled the car and tested the shocks a bit...seem very good. I am thinking if the guy calls me and wants to sell it cheap enough I will gut the car like a fish and pull the rear end, tranny, shocks, brakes, rims and tires, seat belts, and whatever else I can use on the coupe. If the engine is a turbo...well hell yeah, that too, if not....who knows. The shop guy said if he doesn't come and get it, it will be going to the junk yard...or who ever wants it...that would be me This would sure make up for a weak Christmas. I am keepin my fingers crossed. Also, if I get it, I will not be using everything so there will be usable parts left over...I will keep everyone posted.

ok im mooching off this thread. lets say i found a complete swap set up for and l28et. i was gonna throw a 4g63 in and go nuts but price wise i think i might be better off goin l28et and then megaswuirt. but do you need to change the fuel system assembly (tank and or pump) in an s30 to support the l28et fuel habbits? specifically a carbuerated s30?

thats what i thought. but i saw some D-bag setup on ebay some one advertised on zcar.com or soemthign saying custom tank set up for carb to turbo l28 setup. adn iwas like.... hmm.. i could see a higher flow rate fuel pump, but what else. damn miss leading kids. yet i still like my 4g63 idea. i got one from a buddy i can get for cheap. be me a starion tranny. my BF's dad is BF with this AMAZIGN custom automotive welder. i figure i can do it. need a couple motor mounts tranny cross memeber and splice drivshafts. i mean. coome on

starion transmission theres an adapter plate made. tranny and plate will cost me close to 300 dollars. so its a very doable project. i think. i gotta look and 4g63 motor to see where the mounts are on the bitch. but yeah johnsheperd without nitrous is at like 1500 horsepowerd running in the 7's. AWD at that. then there is bret rouse or somethign. RED conversion trying to hit the 200mph mark in his RWD converted 2nd gen eclipse. thats even more power. but its a full drag car. johnsheperds could still be legalized.. you know the whole streetable car sorta deal.

i liek the motor swap idea. but now i can get a complete l28et swap setup shipped to me for 255 + whatever price we work out for the motor and parts. its a 87k motor or soemthign close to that so its pretty healthy, comes with everything to complete the swap. so i would save my self money this route, but i also love the 4G63 idea... DAMNIT!!!! lol
