I think I killed my Z

Wow, Its amazing what will only show up on a long trip. I took a trip up to Rock Springs Wyoming. and the road was rough.

As for what happened is that I heard a loud crack and a spark coming from my defroster vent then my Blower seems to work at VERY random times. Either totally off. or half on, and not even working from the right vents.

Then once I finally got to Rock Springs my brake pedal fell all the way to the floor and pumping it BARELY brought it back. The car was off for maybe 30 min afterwords and there hasn't been a problem yet sept for the entire car shakes when braking at high speeds. you can feel it thought the steering wheel, shifter, and brake pedal. Along with the entire car shaking a bit.

Next problem is the car felt amazingly gutless sometimes. Mainly going up a hill even in like4th gear at 3K RPM IT had a hard time to gain speed. As far as I can tell the clutch wasn't slipping.

Any Ideas at all!? I looked everything over, nothing at all seems out of the norm... For now, I'm not driving my Z

step back about 10 feet and give the car a good look, then think to yourself what the problem is.

oh come on that was funny.

that pop you heard was probably one of the wires going to the blower motor shorting out, or the motor to the blower shorting itself out. as for the brakes its possible your master cylinder is going out, or a brake line is leaking, or one of your bleeders is leaking, or you could just plain be out/low on fluid. as for the gutless feeling, its an NA L-series to begin with, but its probably just getting tired, or it might be time for a tune-up.

Hmm... Well, I'm not shocked with the old engine loosing HP somewhere.
The blower still half works but your probably right. I didnt smell some burning wire but it was so faint I didnt think much of it

Ok but, How would the brake power TOTALLY disappear then come back just as good as before and not lose any pressure at all? Fluid was full, No leaks at all, all the pads are fine ect. Only thing I could find wrong was the fluid was almost old oil dark.

hydraulic system rely on the viscosity of the fluid, old/dirty fluid will go right past a seal, which in turn would cause the pedal going to the floor, its simple to flush the system.

Actually I meant to type it like that, it means "Never ****ing mind"

AS for the brakes, Your right, and besides age, thats the only thing wrong. Still doesn't explain the shaking unless I have a VERY warped rotor..

my 1 and 3quarter sence. steping back and looking, does help. also laying under it talking to your self helps. me and myself have come to a conclusion. the japs are some **** strong lil fckers when it comes to removing the hub's with no power tools. AND! PVC breaker bars work better then metal.

For the heater, it could be the power accessory relay. My blower would work and then suddenly not. It's located right on the blower motor. I changed it and I got heat and cold air.
