Drawing cooler air from a cold air intake vs. an air filter on the top of your SU carbs in a 240Z gives maybe 3-5hp. So cooling the air slightly but adding a little bit more resistance to the intake is going to either take away or add 1hp. (this is an estimate) The added weight will take an additional 0.6hp to push!

Basically I think that it will be a waste for an N/A car to have an intercooler. Fewer people will race you though if they see a huge intercooler haning down in front of your radiator!
