intermediate speedo cable
just real quick, should i grease up the meter side of the intermediate speedo cable?
is it going to cause any issues if i do?
i am tired of my speedo clicking all the time and this is the last part that i have checked that would be causing it

Tell you what mine was doing. When I first got the car it would slam to the 80 mark then bounce from 0 to what ever the speed I might have been going. Kinda weird but it would only do this once in a while. Most of the time it would just hover and bounce. Took my dash apart and noticed my speedo cable mount was damaged. Fixed it, hooked up the speedo and now I have had no issues sence. Just check your mount.

you have a mount?
huh i dont, i dont have the dash completely off but there isnt a mount for the cable, it comes in through the fire wall near the top of the dash, goes into the intermediate and then to the cluster. its mabe 12" long, if that even.

Guess theres a mount where the cable hooks to the speedo. I was only told there was a mount. I took it in because I didnt want to mess with taking off the dash. I know how much of a pain it is to take off. Took it apart to replace the stock speakers.

well i went way under the dash and i couldnt find any mounts, could be something that was added in later years, i am sure from my 79 the designers went, "oh itd be a good idea if we did this or added that".
i fixed it though, greasing the ends a little helped with how loud it was and then i went under the hood and pulled the slack out of the cable in the cabin and it went away.
