interseting find *weight savings*
so the other day i was pulling parts off the 82 racecar motor. i yanked the ac compressor (dont need that) and took the bracket off the block, it was aluminum!! my 79's is a huge chunk of cast steel, so.... if i swap it i save prolly i little better than 5 pounds! this discovery was huge to me, cause i really like my ac, and am always trying to retain some functionality and save weight. so i dove onto some other stuff, turns out the top pulley braket is 2 pounds lighter too, it bolts up different but doesnt have that huge 1/4" piece of plate behind it. that will stay on the racecar until i find another at the wreckers. is there any other parts that are the same but lighter? it ay seem trivial, but it all adds up. and no im not removing the power stering thats just silly.

You're in Canada, what do you need AC for?

you know, it actaully gets to 40 celcius here in the summer (whatever that is in yankee) i do indeed like my ac in my car, and it was great in cali this year. 50% of the b.c. year is ac time. and my racecar will have a heater cause we race in the rain, and i dont want the window to fog up, and to run production, you gotta have the stock dash anyhoo, so might as well install the core and have the fan on a toggle, and have jus the defroster ducts in place. plus the racecar is kinda still street legal. hehe
