Hood mods, probably not. The RB25DET fits in the Z31 so the SR20DET should fit fine with room for a chicken rotisserie .

I am here...just busy working on the Turbo. We have found a few other problems with the car that we are working on and should have fixed soon. He keeps trying to get me to give him the car....for a price he says. Oh yeah...got an NPR for $20 in perfect shape yesterday... We will just have to wait and see how the car does...he has offered $1,000 so far...that's a $500 profit. Meanwhile, the N/A is doing great.

You're in California right? Unless it's a diesel, it's still subject to smog. Model years '75 and older are exempt from the semi-annual smog test. Model years '76 and newer are still subject to smog testing every two years.

The Turbo is home again. We put things on hold for a bit as we may go a different route....like swapping all the running gear into the 1979 N/A. It is a slicktop....and it is in better shape than the turbo car. I am getting sick of the lack of power from the N/A...esspecially after driving the turbo home...dammit Oh, and my 79 still has A/C!!! Could be a decent trade off...not to mention I won't have to re-run all my stereo wires We have been talking about the swap because it would be cheaper than replacing all the other parts I still need to fix on the suspension of the turbo and all the body work that still needs to be done on it...plus I have my silverstars in the N/A and I don't want to swap them into a 3rd car. Does this sound stupid to you guys? Swap to save money and hassle? The turbo car itself is not in very good shape however the engine is strong as well as the tranny and rear end. What do you all think...Swap or no Swap?

^^^ You flip flop more than Hillary Clinton.

Do what ever toots your horn... if dropping the L28ET into the 79 sounds good, go for it.

ADD....this may be true....crap guys...I just want to have a good WHOLE car that I don't have to mess with. Working on the turbo has been fun but will kinda be pointless if I still can't drive it in the rain and the car floods cause the roof is leaking.

Ok, IF <--- I decide to go ahead and do the swap, will all I need to transplant be the ECU and engine wire harness from the ECU? What might I need to swap that I may overlook?

That would be real nice...but money is at a minimum for me right now. Maybe it is time for a 1996 LT4 Corvette.

you could just swap what you say, but since your using an s130 already, you might as well play it safe and swap the whole car harness.

Well that's what I am thinking about...I mean if all I need is the ECU and harness there would be no need to swap the others...as the 79 is good in that respect. I have an aftermarket boost gauge so I am good there and the '79 has the voltage gauge. I will probably just do some research for a while before I actually do anything that way I only swap what is absolutely needed to make the L28ET run in the N/A.

Find my thread on my turbo swap. I did the S130 to S130 turbo swap and kept the factory NA voltmeter. I like that gauge.

I swapped the FI wiring harness with ECU only. (basically) I kept the chasis and dash harness from the NA 280zx in place.
