Junkyards in bay area?

Okay so i been to so many junkyards, and still i cant find a 280zxt to pull a motor or tranny. Is there a junkyard that i am overlooking thats truly heaven? I live inthe Bay Area i went to the junkyards in hayward, and the ones right of the san mateo bridge. Is there a junkyard hiding from me? Or is it that when i go to the junkyard they hide all their z's? Because whenever i go there i will see maybe 2 z's. EH

Thanx for any advice guys
Darrell

Come here to Dallas!!! I've got one yard that is truly Z heaven!!! There was a white '80-ish turbo up on blocks that looked like it was new!!! I tried to get the rims, but in the time it took me to get to my truvk to get my lug wrench...they were gone!

Last week, the complete motor was still intact.

Nope. You're very unlikely to find a pre-90 Z in any of the Bay Area yards.

They crushed them all long ago.

There are a few specialty parts brokers though.

Try Zparts.com.

Good luck!

Dorris actually has three L28ETs. '81 complete, '82 missing distributor, '83 missing injectors. I have a turbo distributor for sale if you pick up the '82.

Uh... Not anymore... I went by yesterday and all they had was a few beat up '74 -'77 Z's and an '82 2+2 NA.

Nope, cuz I'm going over there tomorrow to buy it.

Haha, j/k. I'm such a bastard.

I was planning a diff. engine swap, but if they got em already pulled, I'd consider grabbing one. I hope they've also got that vacuum canister too that distributes vac power to the climate control.

You should have just told him you were going to pick it up tomorrow and left it at that! That would have been funny.

350 Chevy for you too?

So, DarrellBuddy. If you don't find a replacement motor/tranny then what are you going to do?
Have you considered exploring the idea of dropping a 350 Chevy into your car?
I've heard that this is a popular alternative and I am searching for some mechanic willing to take on this task. I want to make the car reliable and legal.
If you happen to learn of someone that is willing and capable of doing this sort of work, then please let me know.
Otherwise, you may see my 1981 280 ZX up on the auction block. I really don't want to sell it because I like it too much.
Please call me if you know of someone who can do this work.
Thanks.
