Just changed clutch master cylinder.....
.....and was wondering how much play everyone had in their clutch pedal. Mine still goes down about half way before offering resistance, and then I pretty much have to floor it before it'll shift decently. Yes, I bled it right and well (down to solid clean fluid coming out). It had about that much play before and I kinda figured the new master would clear that up. I don't think theres enough threads on the plunger to fix that much play. Any ideas????

Check to make sure your bolts to the firewall are really tight. Even if you don't think thats the problem have someone watch it while you press the clutch that ended up being my problem. Maybe you have a weak clutch slave. Good Luck.

So maybe my question now should be how far from the floor should I be in order to shift? I hate having to push it almost to the floor to disengage the clutch comletely...
I may go ahead and change out the slave this next weekend and see if that makes a difference.
Thanks, blue, for the diagrams. Helpful!

I did both this past summer on mine. Everything works pretty good except for the "mysterious dissappearing clutch fluid". No leaks anywhere (that I can find) just every now and then I have to refill my res or the clutch no worky at all!
