I'm taking approaches that guys use from other chassis cars and using the same principles on this car, although I did figure out the tie-rod mod myself since the rack and pinion is all lame and stuff and I couldn't use S13 inners/spacers :/

Are you MIG welding those? MIG has hardly any penetration, bad idea for steering or anything that is under a lot of force and keeps your car on the road!!!!!

Yes, after 6 race car builds from the cage up, 3 years successfully autoxing, 6 years successfully racing circle track, 2 years of doing track days on my bike and building/rebuilding numerous street cars and having a tremendous grasp of race car physics, I know nothing... Says the dumb *** who is mig welding inner tie rods and shortening the steering knuckles without ever thinking of bump steer or thinking of steering lock issues. Have you ever seen a REAL drift car up close in person? And I'm not talking about some home built **** box thats done a few events.

I buy the mig weld comment, as for hoovs, ehhh... he has a point, but as long as it is align-able you should be ok, up until you stuff the tires into the fender wells lol. I would DEFINITELY TIG that **** or you will snap welds.
also, is yours a power steering rack? if so, I forsee many many failures in your future, get a manual rack if you want to avoid that ****.

wow ive just read this whole thread and its pretty amazing.. i love your car man its got awesome stance keep it down. id keep the quarter too i like it. but hey not everybody in this world understands the look. oh and i wouldnt worry about it "folding" in half or a tranny coming thru the floor cause mines been down there for about 6 years now and its still straight turns out that nissian must have understood that cars should be built strong oh well maybe we are all wrong and the whole hellaflush community will just be folding up here in the next few years...

hoov, you're constantly spouting **** off that you have all this experience, yet there's no proof of it, so therefore you are just a ****head on the internet. also, I'm not welding inner tie rods, wtf are you talkin about.
and yea, my car came stock with a manual rack, and my parts car is another manual rack equipped car, power steering is lame huehuehue
the best part is you guys take like 1/4 of my story, and think it's the whole thing, and for that, I think that's pretty cool.

who is "you guys" TIG welding remark was a good one, the only criticism that came off as insulting was hoovs. Everyone elses comments were questions, and they were only there to make sure you weren't steering yourself into some ****, not cause they think you are an idiot but because people make mistakes.

there is nothing wrong with mig welding, ive held together some big time high stress parts. tig is cleaner, and you can control penetration better, but mig can be controlled by good setup as well. i just hope you dont get pulled by some **** cop, they would tow that thing in 2 seconds flat here, impound it and then send it for immeadate inspection. then make you have it repaired by a rip off shop with fancy licencing
