killed my 82 280zxt

its been a while since ive posted on this website, but the reason is because some crazy chic went on the wrong side of the road and ran into me headon at about 45mph, turned my baby into a crushed can. of course she had no insurance, and i only had liability, so i have to take a loss. right now i am in the market for another Z, preferably cheap. if anyone is selling a good running Z for cheap, let me know. i appreciate it.

Did you come out of it ok? I've heard that our cars can take some pretty good hits and even without all of the modern safety equipment, the driver and passenger usually come out in relatively good shape.

Sorry to hear about the car...

that's so sad. Small claims court should do well but you probably waited too long.

You're probably lucky to be alive though...

I'd almost say due to our long front end and straight-6 engine, that has to count somewhere as far as front end collisions go.

Sorry to hear about your Z though. Hopefully you can find something to do about it.

I had the same thing happen to me, trashed my 1981 turbo, front end was pushed in about half way, I had just restored it, and painted it. I came out of it unscathed, but mentally drained. The girl was driving a SUV with NO insurance, and a minimum wage job, so I let her skate without compensation. I really miss that car, she had T-tops and turbo automatic, and that car would exceed the 130 mph speedo I had installed, with lots of headroom left on the tach. I got the head and turbo off of it before the police stole it from me and would not admit it. They said someone probably did me a favor. 2 months later I was hit by the collections agency for towing and storage fees

well..., i am still alive, but i did have a bruised rib, sprained ankle, bruised knees, but the worst part was the 2 contusions on the back of my head caused from the toolbox and luggage in the back flying to the front. i guess that would be the only problem with Z's is that if you have anything in the back and you hit something, it will go straight to the front. honestly though, for that old of a car, the front cabin held up well. when i got out of the car, it was hard to believe i came out alive, the firemen didnt believe that i was the driver and came out alive.

lol, i know about that, in my Z32 a guy pulled out infront of me when i was doing about 50, i missed him but i hit the brakes so hard my system fly into me. btw, i say its time to take that to court, if you dont drive with insurance i take it to the max, they shouldent be driving at all. go to their hearing testify against them and then take them up in a claims court and get a settlment. dont let artard's like that off the hook.

you shouldnt be allowed to register a car and get plates without insurance first imho, and you should be obliged to show proof to the DMV every 6 months when its renewal time, and you shouldnt be allowed to cancel insurance except after the term is up. to many people driving without insurance and its total crap. this is why we need to make the death penalty standard for any one that does repeative acts of mass stupidity, and if they score lower than a 15 on their ACT/fail highschool. they can get a chance to do homeschool though and get a GED (good enough degree!)
