L28et head upgrade
I just took Off the head from my l28et and I was wondering now that I'm here how can I upgrade it?
I read somthing about put a n/a cam on a turbo head and I would like to know more about that
Whats the diffrents between stage I and II cams ?
With the aftermarket cams will I be needing a diffrent type (not OEM) of vaulves, vaulve springs or rocker arms?
How much more horse power will a aftermarket cam realy get me?

- Valves - almost as big as you can get in there already.
- Valve springs - as long as they are up to specs they are fine unless you are building the bottom end for higher reving then you'll want to go with a heavier spring.
- Rocker arms - the Nissan OEM ones are great - there is someone who resurfaces them for a good price but I'm not sure who off the top of my head.
The "A" grind is typically the hot rod cam for up to around 400HP which most people who know and modify the L series heads tend to agree. Lots of threads on it. I think I read about it on hybridz
If you want to get HP out of the L28ET get an aftermarket ECU so you can squeeze the most out of it otherwise you're leaving HP on the table...
L28ET - tuneable ECU, exhaust (downpipe too!!) and intercooler/bov/recirc valve should be your first mods. Methanol once you have a tuneable ECU will let you add more timing back into the tune. A local guy to me put 18 degrees back in after adding methanol to his build! I don't, however, recomend his tuning by knock method

Well I'm not rebuilding it more like cleaning up the vaulves resurfacing the head and well I mean would a aftermarket cam be a performance upgrade that's be worth the money I was reading my book about street cams and racing cams but it didn't say anything about stage cams

Thank you nismopick found everything here
Nissan L-series engine mod tips
Looks like a stage I can would be more for a daily driving
And stage II would be more for auto cross but not as fun for driving and I think this car would be more of a daily driver then auto cross so I might just get a stage I but stage II seems like it would pay off for autocross
