Lemons Thunderhill
Hey guys. My teammates and I recently completed (barely) the 24 Hours of Lemons race at Thunderhill, our third race. Rob, from Z Car Garage in San Jose, asked me to write an article on the race for his Z car blog. Thanks to all of you who have beared with me as I've asked noobie Z questions as we've continued to refine the Z over the last year. If you're interested, here is the link to the article: Z-Car Blog

I have made a few trips up to the Lemons race at Thunderhill myself, though we're running a beat up old Subaru Legacy wagon .
I'll have to let you know next time we're going up there so I can see the Z! I'll also find out where we're racing next.

There's no limitations on things like ignition modules as long as you can convince the BS judges that it fits within the budgetary guidelines. I'm not familiar with the GM one. What's the benefit of it?

Scratch that - they are a replacement for the turbo ignition module. You shouldn't have overheating issues with your NA ignition module unless its bad. Get a new one and you should be good to go.
Next time you need to cool somthing off get an old computer heat sink and fan (runs off 12V) and stick it on with a very thin layer of conductive epoxy or zap strap it on with a thin layer of thermal compound.

I'll one up that and add a peltier junction to the mix - it draws several amps but it makes stuff COLD - its the same thing they use in the electric ice box for your vehicle. It works as a heat/cold pump so as much heat as you can get rid of on the hot side (eg heat sink and fan ) the colder you can get on the cold side (making ice )
