Yes, A V4. A very RARE motor. I found one. looks sweet to. Red and Silver. I like rare thing's. like 280ZX is rare around here. let alone, Road Worthy Z's. i though a V4 would go nice on a road/minor off road buggy

What kind of V4 would that be? What I mean is, what did it come out of?

I found it at a junk yard sitin in a long line of motor's. Did not look what size 4, or brand of it. I was just tripin out on the whole concept of a V4. He said he'll take 50$ for it. and it's not locked up. compleat motor. full of oil. no water or gas on oil eather. Look's Very tempting for a buggy.

Well the Ford offered a V4 in some of it's cars. I don't if it offered in the states at all but I know some of it's cars in Germany and Europe got the engine. It's the engine that their Duratec V6 is based off of. Lancia also offered a V4. They were the first as far as I know of too. But again, I doubt that engine made it stateside. And finally, Honda also had a V4 it offered in some of it's motorcycles. Other than that I'm not too sure about where a V4 would come from.

My SAAB wasn't a V4...
I do remember the old V4 motorcycle engine though. The V4 "Magna". It is way oldschool now though.

I look at it this way: An open diff is just like an LSD that's gone bad and isn't working anymore So in my opinion all open diffs are 'shot' by design

This motor is pretty clean. look's like Maby late 90's. No oil residue on the side. Red and Silver valve cover's. I don't think this went on a moto. It has power stireing pump, Alternator, and A/C. All mounted on it. They yanked the whole thing out, Minues Trany.

Still, it has to be a Honda Engine. Is there an engine code stamped on it somewhere? Displacement on it? Whats the angle of the banks? As far as I can tell Honda is the only manufacturer that sold a V4 engine here in the states. And on top of that they didn't put it in any cars. And the companies that did put V4's in cars did back in the early to mid 1900's, but still, those weren't sold here. So either you've got a really old engine that was somehow imported. Or you've got a Honda Motorcycle engine that was retrofitted to a car or possible a buggy like you planned on. Now you're SURE it's not a flat four right? Do you have a pic of it you can post?

no pic's. It has the two valve cover's like a V motor, and the Dissy is 4. I wish i had more info. That motor is along way way from me right now. But I will be swinging by it some time soon, cause i got to pull a oil filter mount for s/cL3.0. I alos got to pull some injector's from a N/A 280 there also for a new project I got going for a freind. A freind got a 11/80 N/A. slick top. I think I started a Z thing here in my area. These Z's are making a comeback.
