Mallory Ignition Wiring/Tach Help

Alright I'm still a noob when it comes to wiring, so I wanted to make sure I get this right:

Anyway I'm looking at this and trying to figure out how it goes:

Remove the + coil wire and feed it into the Small Red Mallory Ignition Wire
Large Black wire to Battery Negative Terminal
Large Red wire to Battery Positive
Orange Wire goes to Positive Coil
Small Black wire goes to Negative Coil

Then I'm left with wires:
White - Connects to points or electronic ignition output. When used Green/Purple isn't.
Purple/Green - Connects to factory Magnetic Pickups, violet is + and green is -.
Yellow - Connects to Tachometer.

So what do I do with the original wire that went to the - coil post? Do I use the white, green.purple, or yellow wires? Also I'd imagine that I could just splice my wires from my Z31 ECU into the existing + and - wires.

Also I'm trying to understand how I also wire up my tach converter. I can tell that I would splice the red wire from the tach converter into the small red wire coming off the ignition, but the diagram shows to splice the white wire into the ignition's white wire which says it goes to the points/electronic ignition amplifier? I don't know if I use that. So then does the yellow wire coming off the ignition then connect to the tach? Like I said I'm still not good with wiring, so any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

See wiring diagram on page 12 (import wiring): http://www.mr-gasket.com/pdf/6852M_6853M.pdf

Orig - coil wire goes to white. Don't splice any wires other than to add a connection to mate w/ the Mallory wires.

PS... just take your time & lay it all out on the floor. I spent quite a bit of time wiring mine up.

o.k so take the + tach wire on the car and put it to the small red wire of the mallory, and take the neg. wire of your existing coil, and put it to the green wire, use a quick slide here first, just in case, if that doesnt work (which it should, use the white wire) that one is more for aftermarket systems. then the tach adapter should wire in line with that connection of the existing harness and the mallory box, it then sends the signal to your ecu, and runs it. if you dont use it, the car wont start, i tried. hope that helps. the tach adapter should have instructions, they will help with how it goes inline. kinda interupts the signal between the box and your car, and sends it to the correct place.

Alright, thanks. I was looking at the instructions, and I didn't notice the last diagram on the back of the booklet. I do have the MSD tach adapter, now that I know how to wire the ignition and see that the wire colors are exactly the same as the MSD it looks pretty easy to wire up.

Anyway so what color wire do I connect up to the yellow Tach wire. I'm not sure which wire it is, from what I'm getting out of the diagrams it's a Lgw wire, but I can't figure out where the other end of it is.

It should have come w/ some connections / resistors... just plug them in. Here's a pic of mine:

Mainly, I just don't know what color factory wire runs to the tach, so I can know which color wire to hook up to the ignition.
