Megasquirt

SO FAR THIS IS THE CHEAPEST SITE I HAVE FOUND FOR MEGASQUIRT.. YOU'LL NEED THE SYSTEM, THE WIRING HARNESS AND THE GM TEMP GAUGE WITH PIGTAIL.

THE GRAND TOTAL BEFORE SHIPPING AND TAXES IS $358.00 NOT TO BAD.

OH AND YOU'LL NEED TO GET SOME 2 1/2 PVC PIPING TO RUN FROM THE T/B to the air filter (*where the afm sits)

Yes, you do still need a load sensor, but I believe it's set up to use a MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) sensor. It can be attached to any vac port on the intake.

MAPs are great. You can stick your K&N filter right on the turbo itself. good times

I would strongly suggest going through WWW.DIYautotune.com There customer sevice was awesome and so are there prices. I think you might be missing a few things. I strongly suggest getting a stimulator, trust me its a big help.

Do you plan on running fuel and ignition control or just fuel?

Your sig says your car is a 79' so I am not sure how your going to trigger MSnS?

For the IAT(intake air temp) sensor you are going to want to put it on your intake manifold and close to the Throttle Body. And your also going to need the TPS off either a 300zx or 240sx, unless you already have a 240sx TB?

I have megasquirt on my car but have yet to get it running(not due to MS) I have been waiting for my intake manifold to get back from being machined and then I will finally be able to get it running if weather permits

This guy installed MS on his 280zxt ( http://www.cardomain.com/ride/665387/6 )

He hasn't been around in a while, but I talked w/ him quite a bit about MegaSquirt. Said he loved it. Looks like he's from "Wheaton, Illinois." Snow... is that near you?

the hybridz article is very good, i will also do the setup. one q tho, i got a 79 with msd on it already, would i then need the spark part? or can i just control fuel. ive been reading like crazy lately, but just cant quite grasp it. i even got a lappy for free for keeping in the car for tuning

Shady,
If you just wanted to run fuel control that would make things a lot easier. Honestly I dont know what you would use to control spark seeing as you have a 79'? I would ask around on HybridZ if you did want to go that way. A lot of people only run fuel control at first anyways.

The One At Protocar.net Has The Option Of Just Fuel And No Spark. You Can Prob Get That Anywhere Though. Its Just A Firmware Upgrade.
