If you want the milage to read the same as far as the 5 digits go on the 120mph speedo, then you just stick an electric or air driven tool into the back of the speedometer cluster. You can even use duct tape to hold them together. Go easy on startup. There's not much torque so the connection doesn't have to be all that strong. Turn it so the speedometer starts to read a certain speed. Dont' go backwards or it'll bounce on Zero.
Just let it run for a few hours at 100mph... actually, might be all night if you have to drive 100,000 miles. Let the odometer roll over. That's the safe way to do it. If you try to open it up and move the numbers you'll strip out the little tiny gears.
If you want your 120mph speedo to have six digits like the later years, then take both speedometers to a specialty shop. Not sure what specialty. maybe a driveline shop?

You can always depend on Bleach to answer the questions no one else can. Thanks for the tip Bleach.
I also have a question: On my title, the mileage for my Z is not listed. It's completely blank where the mileage should be. Does anyone else have that on their title, and can anyone tell me why this might be?

Hey Juggalo: I have successfully changed the mileage on both of my 120 mph speedos. It just takes a little patience. I turned the numbers by hand verry carefully. If you weren't so far away. I would help you out on that. But anyway it is possible to change them. Now if I could figure out how to put the 6 digit numbers in them, that would be better! I want to be careful, and not damage the needle in the speedo. It happened before to me. When I tried to change the digits. Patience is a virtue.
Anyway sorry for rambling on like that. But like I said I have already done it on both of mine. Not too hard.

An old trick. Have seen it done and it worked well. Although Last I heard, tampering with an odometer is a "Motor vehicle Act" offence here in BC so I wont be doing it anytime soon.
