Mirrors done!
alright i repainted my mirrors because i was bored and i had some paint arround the house. i didnt want to try to match it because well matching 30 year old paint is hard, so i painted them another color.
the driver side mirror reacted differently than the passenger side but i tamed the orange peel some.

after
some more pics
the next projects
i donno whats up with the paint under the windsheild, its paint over old paint, from the looks of it it wasnt even primed before it was sprayed on because it comes right off and the origonal paint looks good under it still. very little rust on that window edge too
the mirror color us Duplicolor Universal Black. it comes in big cans, i used pretty much a whole big can on the mirrors need it to be a little more durrable with that leading edge and bugs

i took the mirror guts out, was much easier to paint. i also used a self etching primer, i am sure it didnt do much good on the plastic peices but it was what i had, i think its a defective can because it was comming out like you turned the hose on.
a couple weeks ago i hit the black hood vents and wiper vent with some vynil dye untill i can affored some new ones, i didnt prime it much just scrubbed off the crusty layers and hit it, got alot of fuzz in the pain some how though but you cant notice.
mabe some day i'll hit the mirrors a little more with some sand paper and get them to shine up better.
