msa bore and stroker kit
i was looking through the msa website and saw this conversion kits but since they are out of stock they dont have the price.
Any Ideas how much it would cost with the machine work?

That kit has been on back order with MSA for about 3 years now... The Diesel Maxima crank shaft is no longer available from Nissan. That's the corner stone of that conversion. The only other alternative is to have a custom crank made by Scat or someone else in the biz and that makes the price WAY higher.

One thing I've always wondered, is the power gain really all that much? Do the extra .3-.4 litres make that much of a difference?
Or lets say you decide to do a turbo stroker, with boost does the little bit extra displacement make that much of a difference to warrant $10k? Could you use that money on rebuilding the engine in stock form, only with stronger internals to withstand higher boost and be just as well off?

from what i've seen as far as import engines go a stroker motor makes more torque and spools a turbo faster but the stock bore motors seem to have a higher HP potential. go figure. also when making a 3.1 stroker there such an over bore i wouldnt boost.

I've read about them before. The bottom line is from my research they are not worth the cost.
Its for those that love the L-series and either want a really big NA engine or just have way more money to spend than they know what to do with.
Otherwise, your $$$ is better spent on boosting an L28et

As someone who's got both, I agree, it's not worth the cost. You're better off spending more money on forged pistons and connecting rods so you can run more boost.
Rebello's high compression stroker motors can make 280 crank hp or about 240 rwhp or about $41.6/whp.
For that money, you could probably put together a nice ~350 rwhp turbo motor.
