The lady that has it was sold turbo injectors, so of course now it won't run. I need the turbo injectors for when I do my turbo conversion. So I swapped her my extra set of n/a injectors, then my wife falls in love with it. These darn things are catchy, you hang around one long enough and you'll want your own! I have to drop the fuel tank and clean out the nasty old gas and then it should run.

Got it home, the work has begun, fun! Got the old gas out of the tank, washed out the engine compartment, put on a new fuel filter. It already has new; cap, rotor, plugs, wires, anti-freeze and air filter. Put in some gas and a battery, put some oil in the spark plug holes. Cycled the key with fuel line disconnected until the bad fuel was gone. Little bit of starter fluid cranked it, and varrrooommm! WOOHOO! Betty said my fuel is low and my lights are on all the gauges work, its awesome
The only thing I don't like is the power antenna doesn't work, the red interior and its an auto, but I have everything to make it a 5-speed.

oops forgot to cycle my gas when i changed the filter. i too just got an 81 Z. Im having some sort of idling problem. it idles high warms up, drops to 700 rpm then shoots up to 1000rpm and idles there. there is a slight miss. i somewhat corrected it with all the parts you listed you put on, but i can just ever so slightly hear it now. dunno what's going on. this is my first z car. everything else i've messed with has been american, or little newer than 81 of course. lol

I'm not sure what switch this is?
[IMG][/IMG]
The brake pedal on the right is from the auto it has an extra switch, does anyone know what it is. My hope is it is the switch that tells the transmission the brake is being pressed so you can take it out of park. the only other thing I know it would be for is Betty or the check ok light, but I don't know why either one would need it? Thanks for the help.
