My 83 280zx N/A before and after lol

Thing was a mess inside the engine bay, my family made me get the 83 because it had a nice body

Made me angry because I wanted a (not to much rust) 280z/260z/240z to work on, I was thinking of selling it but I decided to keep it untill i can get a project car, now that I am old enough to make that decision lol.

interior is still nice but the seats were killing me.

Now the engine looks okay.

I now need to work on the suspension and drivetrain and such. Shouldnt be
to hard now that i have a income.

I did the silicon hose kit on my own, saved alot of money over buying the kits they have on ebay, but I still need to replace some hoses in a few spots.
Headers and exhaust I keep running back and forth figuring out what to get, tires and wheels might buy some off a crashed Z31 lol. I have a good car club, but its kind of dead recently.

Any suggestions would be great!

A little wash-a-roo does wonders for an engine bay.

That's crazy D_Zed, you have the exact year color inside and out. As my recent Z I aquired back in September this year. But man is yours much more cleaner than mine. Props for having a nice 280zx. And don't get rid of it, it is a sweet car. And I think like you, I want a S30 down the road myself. So I can have the best of both worlds. Keep us up on this sweet Z.

Yes I am planing on cleaning up the vacuum hoses and the fuel line, I am just starting inside out though, Engine get it running good, then modify it a bit, then suspension (which I am doing now) then engine again, and then a bit of the interrior like install better seats (already got the older 280z seats which are alot better then the fancy ones that came in the later moduls), sterio system, and 130 mph cluster (I have two, probably going to sell one) and then i might do suspension again and then do some hard tunning on the engine, wont take to long though. Exhaust is next after the suspension btw, and i need to do valve lash adjustment lol.

WildmaN I saw that one Z, Looks just like mine, just the paint is a bit blah and interrior was messy, but that doesnt matter, just gives more reason to replace things and make it more custom lol.

I presure washed mine. all shiny inside. I did not port due to the fact the intake will be geting swaped out for another one soon. You can do Alot to these engines to make them look nice. Just cleaning them up makes a huge diff. And since these bay's are so open. and the desighn of this set up makes for easy custom part's, like intake, and exhaust.

Yeh, and not only that, changing parts is simple (well still takes some work but simplier then V series engines)

What kind of intake you putting on it?

yes, you'll need the wiring harness. You'll also want to grab the ECU, boost sensor (if you want to run the stock gauge, otherwise skip this part), and pretty much anything thats attached to the wiring harness.
