my s130 destroyed
Okay here goes, some of this may not make sense to any of you. that's because i copied it from a local car forum since i didn't feel up to retyping the entire event.
-kristene, i would say i hate you but, you're too damned cool of a person to hate although you were right. i am now another RP wreck. 7:30am this morning i was on my way to work heading south on 9th avenue about to cross creighton road as the light turned yellow but, i knew i had plenty of time to get across it. as i get into the intersection this silver cavalier in the oncoming turning lane cuts me off, i lock up the brakes and try to avoid him but it's too late and i slam right into his passenger quarter panel. we both spin around doing 180's. my motor is stalled of course but, i turn the key to cut power to fuel pump, get out of my car and i proceed to help him out of his. by now his wife or whoever that had been following him got out of her car and tended to him. at the time i felt perfectly fine, i had been wearing my seatbelt as usual but, he had used to windshield to absorb most of the impact . state trooper arrives almost immediately and just as soon as that she's doing her best to put the blame on me, saying that i came out of nowhere and how the guy had the green arrow. for the most part the officer talked to them more than me. he caught on to her story though and said it wasn't possible for him to have had the green arrow while my light was yellow because that particular intersection doesn't work like that. to wrap up this story, he was a complete fault, my z is totaled, im out of work for who knows how long and im completely broke. ah but, don't let me forget the on scene officer used to have a 280zx as well hehehe. the front end of my car is crushed but, the motor is left untouched, i have another 280zx in the garage that's in much better condition with a blown head gasket that i suppose i should start working on.

Sorry to hear than man, I feel your pain. My '81 was involved in a bad accident in May of '04. My whole front end is munched. But I have been thinking of keeping him, and restore him back to where he should be. All aside, glad to hear you are allright. Just another obstacle to overcome in life. Hang in there man.

Damn dude, at least you're OK. That looks almost as bad as my girls car that she wrecked with me in the passenger seat. There is nothing like being in a wreck. Especially when you're the passenger with a feeling of no control. Man . . scary stuff.
Sell what you can, strip what you want, swap motors and get back on the sadle again.

as much as i loved that car i have no interest in fixing that particular one. the entire sub frame was rusted, frame rails were rusted, floor boards were rusted, as well as every exterior body panel rusted to no extent. motor ran great but, had a few small issues and was ragged on a lot, car had no interior panels or carpetting so it was the epitamy of beater. like i said i loved that car to death, it never let me down and beat countless higher dollar vehicles. after i posted this subject on a local car thread i had countless people offer to help me fix my other z so i believe im in the best possible hands. as far as the insurance claim goes, if im not satisfied im finding out where that bish lives and hunting him down for killing my baby. oh fyi his ticket was $115.00, that's it for destroying my most favorite possession but, to be honest with all of you. i enjoyed the wreck, it was an exciting and exhilorating experience. something new to break out of the ordinary day. i believe this may have happened for the best though

i think i posted pictures and information about my other z a few weeks ago after i got it from my friend locally. here's a little recap on both of my cars;
wrecked z
1980 datsun 280zx 2 seater
motor-NA
tranny-5-speed
mileage-80,803
daily beater with nothing special about it
project z
1979 datsun 280zx 2+2
motor-NA (plan for SBC swap)
tranny-5-speed
mileage 78,803 original miles
this particular car is beautiful in my eyes, the largest portion of rust is the size of a nickel and there are only two or three spots like that. the rest of the body is all original and in wonderful condition, the few larger portions of rust that did exist were taken care of by previous owner, a bodyman, my friend. the interior is in excellent condition, the only thing needing attention being the driver seat which could use a restitch, also the interior is black which dave tells me is rather rare in the older z cars. as far as i know everything on the car works just fine, has new clutch, new brakes, syncro's in the tranny are fine. does anyone find it wierd that this car has exactly 2,000 miles less than gold z when it died?

I agree with everyone about the wreck. Sad to see a Z go like that but good thing you-re thinking positively about this. You've got your health and a fresh start in the garage. Good luck and hope you are driving a Z again real soon.
