n/a exhaust

tried searching but no luck.
i have a 2inch echaust on mine now(i'm devastated i thought it was 2.25) anyhoo the exhaust guy recons i can only get a 2.25 in by the look of the room but i said to him I knew there were people on here who have 2.5. Can people please confirm to me their 2.5 setup but also what muffler do you have?(not brand wise though as odds are I wont have 90% of the makes you have) I was looking at a cannon type muffler like out of wangan midnight something similar to this (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....MEWA:IT&ih=001) i just love the look of it, but want to get a rolled tip not straight cut. anyway the guy recons it may hang down a bit low and reccomends a oval muffler. so can people please confirm this to me as well and maybe some pics too. cheers

I run an 18" (long) glass pack. They're inexpensive and sound good. I've seen 'em with 4" I/O holes so 3" shouldn't be a problem.

2.5" exhaust systems are very common on these cars. 2.75" is pretty doable but a 3" requires an exhaust guy that knows what he's doing or you're exhaust will hang really low under the body and be highly susceptible to impact on speed bumps

how bout photos of mufflers? how low do they hang for the circular ones. i wouldnt think too low that it is an issue especially considering it's on stock suspension

with the help of entropy on cam. here is the one from the back, i didnt use the cross pipe it comes with, cause why would i want 2 xtra bends? my muffler stands on end, the outlet and the entrance are offset to help it fit better.

this ones with the muffler from auto-x. not as easy to hear, but what youd expect if you were given it around out on the open road

and in car at autox, there is quit the droan in my car, mostly beacuse i took out the heat sheilds, and havent benn energetic enough to put them back in. and i removed all the undercoat, so a bit of sound barrier is gone from that too

see shady yours sound alright. I had a mate say 2.5 would be too big for my little motor but i've had 2.5 on both previous rb30 and buick 3.8L 6 cylinders and sounded fine to me.

you just HAD to bring THAT one up!!! yup, thats just the msa turbo system, its too small for turbo, but great for n/a's. i think this is the one i got, i opted for the turbo muffler just cause. i also run no cat, til emmisions time.

my pipes are all stock but i added an N1 style muffler, which is close enough to tanabe, and it sounds amazing on my 1982 n/a. nice, deep growl, just what i wanted=) go for it. dont expect too much performance though, just growl.
