Need a favor from a 280ZX owner 1979
My car is down at the body shop stripped and ready to be painted over the winter. I'll get it back in the spring. They work on it when they are slow to keep them busy and I get a better price. I am transferring the antique plate from the previous owner and need to send in 4 pictures of the car. Front, back and each side with the windows up. It takes a good 6 weeks for this process so I can't drive it until the new owners card comes. Could someone send me 4 pictures so that I can apply while it's in for repairs to have the plate for when the car is finished? I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

280ZX pictures needed
I received pictures from several 280ZX owners. What I need is an original looking 280ZX. In Pa. to qualify for an antique plate the vehicle must be original. I'd have a problem with mine as it has American Racing wheels on it. So if you can send me the 4 requested photos of an original looking car I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

Will the state be ok with photos that are NOT your car? I would hate for you to find out that someone in the state would look at this as some kind of fraud.
I'm assuming you are applying for a special plate, that has some kind of special privilege associated with it. (In Arkansas once you get a antique plate, you don't pay the $22 yearly registration fee again)
What will happen if yours is found not to meet the requirements later on? Dont get sideways with the law.

It's done all the time here with Photoshop, swapping wheels of another persons vehicle, other peoples cars etc. The system is basically a joke here depending on which state employee looks at the photos. The majority not having a clue. I had a 77 Vette, lowered, chrome Hooker headers and side pipes, front and rear spoilers and Cragar SS wheels on it. It went through with no questions. Next vehicle I sent in was a stock 76 MG Midget in 06. They kicked it back because there was a luggage rack on the trunk. When I called to explain that most all of them had these she said I would need a letter from the company saying this was an option. I told her that would be great if I could call a company that has been out of business for 16 years. As proof I photocopied an original sales brochure showing a Midget with a luggage rack. They kicked back my 71 Chevelle SS454 this year the first go around because the paint was too shiny! Here antique vehicles can only be driven from sun up till sundown for the purpose of attending car shows.

wow around here they even need engine bay pix and interior pix. plus if you have a false car and have an accident your insurance is void. they have a modified insurance for cars older than 1958 and then it can be anything you want. so that puts my car out of the running. plus the vintage cars all have to meet smog regulations at the time of the request. even if its an 1930's car. its not held to modern standards but its a very annoying hoop to jump thru to get collector plates or vintage plates.

The car already has an antique plate. It goes with the car when it's sold. You still need to send 4 pictures in again though. With the faded paint and since the body has been completely stripped of bumpers, lights etc. this can't be done until I get it back from the body shop next spring. It's not fraud just pictures of what the car is supposed to look like.
