need help with clutch 83 280zx!!!!!

need help with clutch 83 280zx!!!!!

i just got an 83 280zx and the clutch pedal just stays on the floor, it will only come up if u move it by hand, it doesnt return to the disengaged position, any ideas on whats wrong? thanks- gabe

Welcome to ZDriver!

Answer: There is most likely no fluid in the clutch master reservoir... check and fill. You may also need to bleed the system as well. And check for leaks (especially at the inside firewall).

too much of it on my behalf, i have a few 2'' scars on my arm cause of my car, i'm surprised i don't have tetanus yet...

You probably need to replace the master and slave. In fact, just do it, they are down in cost for some reason. Easy job and you won't have to worry about no clutch on a dark and rainy night on a lonely road.

unfortunately it wasn't a movie it was my son's z31T about 0300 at SeaTAc airport access road and guess what - it was raining in Seattle.

ok, so i guess ill replace the master and slave, but it will all have to wait unfortunatly because i jsut got back to school which is 350miles away from he car

update!!! replaced the clutch master cylinder and the car shifts great and the pedal feels awsome, thanks guys
