New here!
Well, I am constantly on HybridZ researching stuff that I want to do for my car, and then I found out about this place, registered a while back, and promptly forgot about it (sorry guys :P ) But anyways, I thought I'd make my first post here, and post some pics of my ZX that I bought for $400 back in May!
and mah dyno sheet that I finally scanned in! lol even though the results really aren't what the car's making... :P (I finally got around to putting new plug wires on it the other day!)
Specs:
Headlight covers, under bumper foglights, changed the old turbine rims for a set of the stock six spoke rims, catalytic removed (previous owner did it) with stock piping going into a Flowmaster muffler, a cone filter, MSD Blaster 3 coil, painted some of the underhood components, and removed alot of the vacuum lines, custom made fuel rail (by myself!), genuine JDM valvecover, Pilot steering wheel, Nismo shift ****, seat covers (the stock seats are threadbare/tearing, so these are only temporary)... And my next upgrade will be a dual 2 1/4 exhaust utilizing dual Cherry Bomb mufflers!
When I bought the car, I had no previous knowledge of Z cars, only my knowledge of restoring my Firebird, and helping my dad out in his shop. Anyways, when I bought it, the head was off, and the guy didn't stick something in the timing cover to hold tension on the tensioner, so more work there... It was also missing an exhaust manifold, but other than that, it's pretty much as I bought it, except for the things I listed above for it.
Now I'm planning on building a N/A L-gata motor for it, non stroker L28 that I'm shooting for 250whp, probably not going to get it, but that's what I'm shooting for :P (and yes, I do plan on doing ALOT of custom work on it )
So yea, that's basically my story, and I'm stickin to it! lol

112whp / 145wtq are excellent numbers for that car. How many miles are on it?
My stock 280ZX LeMons car with 260k miles on it made 117 whp and 138 wtq. Remember, these cars only came with 140 SAE corrected crank hp from the factory, so pulling 112 at the wheels is pretty darn good.

WELCOME!!!! if it werent for that huge dent in the drivers fender that would be an incredibly clean car for 400 and even for that cant complain. 250 at the motor will probably be what you end up with if you build the NA right.... maybe... even that is a bit hopeful

Actually, it's a '79, I forgot to mention that :P
and it was with a full tune up, minus a few things, like injector cleaner, fuel system cleaner, and new spark plug wires, plus, I messed with the timing a bit, and I actually think the fuel rail made a bit of a difference, but that could just be me being hopeful lol.
Thanks for the welcome guys, and I'll have some interior/engine pics either tonight or tomorrow!

No, I think the car was originally silver, but whoever painted it did a nice job, because all of the interior parts are painted, along with the engine bay!
Oh, found some pics of the engine!(the first two are the most current of the engine bay pics):

I actually bought it off of zcarparts (I think that's his username). It's really a waiting game for one of those, you just have to wait until someone either finds one or gets one in from a shipment I bought it for $115 with shipping

Nice clean car. I think I did see it on the other forum.
the power curve is strange... like it looses power at 4500+
I had power increase all the way to 5200, but not so much torque down low. My 1982 that I dynoed had headers and larger exhaust though.
welcome to Zdriver
