Sweet man, what a difference! By the way is that an '80 or '81? But it sure looks great, bummer about the overheating problem. Been there and done that, more than I can count! Anyway welcome to the Z family man, hope your stay is enjoyable, entertaining, and full of knowledge! Z's rule!

Lookin' good 007. I like the new wheels. I had a set like that on my old '81 Blue 280ZX way back when. Sounds like you've got your work cut out for you. Nice to see a good plan being put into action. Keep it up!

Rod.

your car looks great.. it looks a lot better than mine when i started working on it.. judging from the pics of your engine bay and seeing the outside of your radiator.. you might want to flush out your whole cooling system and change a few hoses and thermostat as well.. well good luck and welcome to the forum....

thanks for the welcome guys. this is by far the best Zcar forum that i've found. people aren't all stuck up and there's actually a section for us ZXers

WildmaN
-the car is a 1980 model. incedentally you may have seen it around because as far as i know the car has been in AZ its whole life. actually i'm flying there tomorrow to pick up the car and drive it here to NY (i myself just moved here from scottsdale a month ago)

DynamicJ
-i have no idea what color the original interior was, right now however parts of it are blue, red, tan, gray, and black. when i'm done with it it will be all custom and all black

icice9
-thanks man that really means a lot coming from you. i love your car as its pretty much what i want to make mine like. i spent about and hour looking at your cardomain page drooling all over my keyboard. ****in beautiful! oh and as far as the cooling problem, that dissapeared once i got an aluminum racing radiator from arizonazcar.com, i haven't seen the temp guage go over 1/8th even when sitting in traffic in 110* heat.

can someone tell me what the deal is with posting pictures here? why arent the [img][/img] tags not working for me?

Those image tags should show up as long as you insert them in your original post. If you edit the post they seem to cancel out and appear like yours did. I don't know why though...

Hey no I must have missed it. I have seen a lot of Z's since I have been here in '88. But I have lived either in Apache Jct. or Mesa currently now. I mean my friend had 3 of them at one time. I have 2 myself, and I want another one. I would like a 280z. From '75-'78. And preferablely with a 5-speed. And your Z is pretty nice, and yeah I do like the wheels you put on it. And I am not a big fan of spoked wheels. But those are pretty sweet looking! Anyway good luck to you on getting your Z home. And keep us up on your project.

well i'm happy to say that the Z made the 4000 mile trip home just fine without any incedent. drove from AZ over to Florida, then Virginia, and finally back to New York. besides smelling of gas because of the leaking injectors the car had no issues at all!

time to start putting on all those parts i have sitting around in the garage

They're Riken wheels, which aren't made anymore. I bought them from a guy in AZ who had them on his 240z back in the day. Paid more for the wheels than i did for my whole car, but then i got a really good deal on the car

I noticed you wiped off the price on the windshield before taking the pictures, but you left the 00's... I'm pretty sure you didn't pay more than $900 for the car!
