Is this normal?

Ok, two parts.

First, it seems like my fuel gauge might be sticking. When the big gauge gets near 1/4 tank, it stops completely and the little gauge goes down. Is that normal or should they both keep moving? Thought the tank was suppose to hold 21 gallons, but doesn't seem like it from the gauges.

Second, when I let of the accelerator it seems like it's engine-braking. Had motorcycles that decelerate hard when I let of the throttle, but never a car. A friend thought it might be loose or broken motor mounts like on an old car of his, but checked those and they're fine. Is it just how these cars handle normally?

the guage should go down at the same time, yes it is 21 gallons/80 liters. the engine braking, yes, they do slow down pretty good by themselves, but check for a sticking brake just incase.

Yeah, I'll be checking the brake today while I'm off. Somebody on another forum said they had a similar problem and it was because an engine mount was broken, but my mounts are good. Any ideas on fixing the gas gauge? I figure a replacement would be hard to find an expensive.
